Nigeria | October 1-10, 2021

We are excited to return for our second medical outreach in Nigeria, October 1-10, 2021!  Nigeria is the most populous country within Africa with a population of approximately 170 million people. It is also the third most multilingual city in the world. It is noted to have a rich cultural heritage and history, as well as, a diverse landscape including mountain ranges, beaches, tropical forests, city skyline and even deserts. Nigeria is located in Western Africa on the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by 4 countries. This will be a great opportunity to share God’s love to others and make a lasting impact!

Overview

Adequate healthcare in the village we are serving in is rare, and the needs are tremendous. On this outreach we will help many of the sick and hurting who would otherwise go without much needed treatment. We will set up a general medical clinic and treat patients’ needs as they present. The team will be lodging in Obi, Benue State, Nigeria. Our lodging destination is approximately a 5 and a half hour drive drive from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria. Volunteers will be shuttled to and from the airport and daily to the clinic site.

Volunteer Costs

Cost: $1200 per participant. Group Rate: $800 per participant (Groups of 2 or more).
Cost covers: Daily Meals and clean bottled water, Lodging, Ground Transportation within Nigeria(includes transport to and from the airport), Interpreters, U-VOL Foundation Outreach T-shirt, post mission excursion experience costs, and Travel Health Insurance. Total fees are due 4 weeks prior to the medical mission.

Volunteers are also responsible for their own flight costs. Estimated roundtrip typically ranges from $800-$1100 depending on your departure city and the time of year. The registration is paid to U-VOL Foundation Inc, and you will pay the travel agent we use directly for your flight. U-VOL Foundation has partnered with the travel management company, Diversity Travel, for medical mission travel bookings. They offer extra flexibility and humanitarian fees.

***Since a portion of the costs help in funding the medical missions, we are unable to waive program fees or provide program fee reductions. We encourage those for whom the cost of attending a medical mission presents a financial challenge to fundraise for program fee or flight costs. Please contact volunteer@u-volfoundation.org for more information on fundraising for the program fee or flight costs.
